Hola Terrace Crew!

Pull up a chair, find a nice bit of shade, and let’s catch up. The June heat is officially building here on the coast from Alicante right up to Denia and all the towns in between, and if you’re anything like me, your afternoons are now strictly reserved for extra hydration and staying cool. The good news? The local weather forecast is promising a bit of a breeze and some welcome relief from Wednesday onwards, so we can all breathe a little easier.

It’s been a lively week right across the area. Here’s what’s happening from Alicante, Benidorm, El Campello through Calpe, Benissa, Teulada, Moraira, Jalon, Lliber and on to Denia and Javea.

Javea Fogueres de Sant Joan 2026

The bonfires, parades and music are in full swing in Javea, with that lovely midsummer atmosphere filling the old town and beaches right through to the 24th.

Moraira Moors and Christians & summer vibes

Moraira’s fiestas have brought parades, fireworks and a great community feel. The Andalusí market around the castle is still adding to the festive buzz.

Benissa municipal pools are now open

Great news for families — the municipal pools in Benissa have opened for the season. Perfect spot for cooling off with the kids during these warmer days.

Free bus to Cala del Moraig

El Poble Nou de Benitatxell has reactivated the free shuttle bus to Moraig Cove. Super handy if you’re heading down for a day at one of the most beautiful beaches around.

Young athletes celebrating

Over 3,500 schoolkids from across the region recently gathered to celebrate the end of the regional sports leagues. Always heartwarming to see them out enjoying our coast and hills.

Beaches and Blue Flags from Alicante to Denia

Clean-up teams have been busy from Alicante and El Campello through Benidorm, Calpe, Benissa and Dénia. We’ve got another strong set of Blue Flags flying again this year – the beaches are looking great.

Local council and community updates

Teulada-Moraira has passed its major municipal budget with boosts for culture and environment. Calpe is offering support for small businesses with energy costs, and the weekly markets are running as usual right across the area from Alicante to Denia.

How are you coping with the early summer heat? Been splashing in the Benissa pools, caught the free bus to Moraig, enjoying the Javea bonfires, or out on one of the Alicante or Benidorm beaches? Let me know your thoughts and local tips in the comments below – the Terrace Crew always has the best insights!
