24 Hours of Pure Benidorm Banter: Flash Hotel, Curry House Classics & a Freddie Mercury Knockout! ☀️🍛🎤
Morning, you lovely lot! ☀️🍹
If you reckon Benidorm is nothing but 24-hour madness, sunbed wars and dodgy karaoke… well, you’re half right. But my hubby and I just proved you can sneak in a cracking little overnight that’s equal parts chill, cheap thrills and proper laugh-out-loud entertainment — without needing a full industrial-strength hangover kit the next day. (Though let’s be honest, the paracetamol did make an appearance.)
We rocked up for a cheeky one-nighter at the Flash Hotel and blimey, €100 for the night with breakfast thrown in? Absolute bargain. Adults-only, slap-bang in the middle of the action (two-minute waddle to Levante Beach), and honestly? It does exactly what it says on the tin. The room was spotless, the bed was properly comfy, no weird smells or surprises. The pool area looked lush — loungers begging for a siesta — but March had other ideas, and it was a bit fresh, so we gave it a miss. Still, for a quick getaway? Flash nailed it. No glam, no fuss, just proper value.

First job: straight down to Playa de Levante. That skyline hit us like a postcard on steroids — towers for days, sea sparkling like it was showing off, and the promenade buzzing with just the right amount of March energy (lively but not shoulder-to-shoulder chaos). We did the classic “Blimey, that’s a lot of high-rises” photo moment and soaked it all in.
Dinner? We went full “when in Benidorm” and headed to Gurka Kitchen for a proper Indian. None of that fancy fusion nonsense — just honest-to-goodness lamb tikka, naan bread, and that comforting curry-house taste that screams “we’re on holiday, calories don’t count.” Portions were great. We decided to sneak a peek at one of the shows afterwards, but unfortunately, we were too late — most places were absolutely rammed!
SunSeaSangria tip: get there early if you want a decent table and a front-row seat. Check out websites for show times and have a back up plan.

We ended up at The Explorers Club for the Freddie Mercury tribute. The performer was on absolute fire—outfits, moves, voice — the full Queen experience. We belted out Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You, the lot. The crowd was buzzing, drinks were cold and cheap, and the energy? Electric. Proper feel-good night that had us grinning like idiots all the way back to the hotel.
The next morning, we hit the breakfast buffet as it owed us money. Yes, it was busy (think Saturday footie crowd), but there was everything — bacon, eggs, pastries, fruit, coffee on tap. We stuffed our faces, felt smug about that €100 deal, checked out and headed home properly recharged.

So there you have it — 24 hours in Benidorm that wasn’t just sun, sea and sangria (although we wouldn’t have said no to a pitcher!). It was bargain hotels, beach strolls, balcony views, a cracking British curry fix, one missed show (lesson learned!), and a Freddie tribute that’ll have you air-guitaring in the car for days. Affordable, fun, zero regrets. Next time we’ll definitely check the show times and see who and what’s on — proper planning next round!
